Goat , you and I know you did that on purpose .
As for the team , same side as on Wed , with Yak , Dan , and either Joe Yobo or Young Jackie for subs . Bring it on .

Howard

Hibbert Jagielka Lescott Baines

VDM Fellaini Arteta Cahill

Yakubu Jo

It's a noodle-scratcher actually. With everyone fit I don't think we can leave any of the above players out, but Cahill's no wide man and that midfield would lose it's shape without Neville.

:o based on what?

would depend purely on form imo, for instance on current form i'd drop osman and fellaini, but if we're looking at top form surely they'd both deserve spots, but then again who wouldn't?

howard
hibbert jags lescott neville
fellaini
pienaar baines
cahill arteta
yak

Ability maybe?

But come mate starting the fa cup final  you honestly think he is in our best 11. Disagree. I agree he is beginning to show what he maybe able to do, but to give him a starting 11 in the cup final based on a cross and a couple minute cameo appearance. Reality check.

I wouldn't have him in there, no.

It's all about opinions though.

He may not have pace, but hes got skill, good passing and a good strike too.

He would get his stamina up by playing more matches...but thats doubtful

Anythings better than Osman Right Wing.
Yeah dom i buy this i think osman has dropped performance in recent week but surely gosling gets in before VDM and i think i would still go for osman before VDM as he is just not fit enough and i dont think he ever will be, however i would love to be proved wrong

Na it's based on the fact that this a hypothetical situation which would involve all our players being 'match fit.' Even if today he's 6 months of intensive training away, it doesn't come into it for the purposes of this thread.

In terms of pure ability he's one of our best players. I've been impressed with him every single time I've seen him play for us, not just over the last week. As I remember it when he first signed he played 4 or 5 games in a row and got 3 or 4 assists, the Echo was full of praise for him, I remember one article in particular where he gave an interview saying something like he takes as much pleasure from others scoring from his crosses as he does from scoring himself.

His little cameos since have obviously been brief but always promising. The year we finished 6th (the year of Manny's first coming) I remember him playing 70 minutes against West Ham on Sky - Vaughan got the winner after a long injury lay off and the commentators spoke of VDM as a possible man of the match.

I'm a sucker for players with unfulfilled potential.
