Is life not amazing, how the 'no' voters, the anti BK, the anti club running, the loudest and most condemning seem to be a majority and as such throw their weight around.

Yeah, look I'm not completely deluded. Just mostly.

I know that even without those two they're still a good team. I think that pair is the difference between fifth and second but hell the fifth place team is pretty damned good. Even without them they still had Kuyt and Alonso and Mascherano and Riera/Benayoum and a decent defense. Enough to win the majority of their games, especially given their 'luck' with refs.

But thats still pretty much their first eleven. You're not going to convince me that their subs bench is miles ahead of ours or even any better at all.

That's exactly what having a good squad is. Losing your best players and being able to replace them.

The thing is - you've said Liverpool's squad is just like ours (or some one did) - we lose our best players and finish 5th, Liverpool lose theirs and (STILL) finish 2nd.

They are a class above - Fact.

To be fair, Gerrard played 5 more games than Arteta and Torres 10 more than Yak. (Aren't stat sites wonderful?)

But I'm not arguing that their first eleven is stronger overall than ours. That means that losing their best players doesn't have such a big effect.

Though to be fair our worst form was when they were both fit.

I still don't think their squad players are better than ours, though.

I am knee deep in George Orwell again, regardless of how far I get otherwise, I seem always to be drawn back to the vulgarity and viciousness and then either react or realise I cannot (cannot being worse because I have been desensitised or threatened). Tightrope.
