Straqsituation

Oh christ yes. Technically not very good. But he was effective, and technique isn't the be all and end all. Neville and Hibbert have made pretty good careers for themselves.

Anyway, it doesn't matter. I'm pleased for what he did for us and I wish him the best for the future.

Yeah but Hibbert and Neville are defenders. Stracq had the touch of a CB, and that's maybe okay for a CB, but not a lone striker.

His touch was alright. Neville played in midfield a lot, lest we forget. But you're right, ultimately not good enough, and he did look like a CB up front. But please don't deny he lifted us at a time when we desperately needed it

I didn't. I said he did, basically. I'm not trying to take anything away from him mate!

And Neville isn't a midfielder. He's an abomination.

the game against Man City will live long in the memory, fantastic performance from the big man, and a desrved standing ovation when he went off.... good luck denis ye big ugly ****er!!!

Loved him, had the same heart and desire as any lad who sat in the Gwlad would if Moyes threw him on. Wish him nothing but luck.

I wouldn't, those wages are better off used to keep our players who know how to kick a ball in the right direction, we don't have the finances for sympathy cases.
Massive heart, gave 110%, but so would I if I put the shirt on too and I'd run around for free.

Thought he was looking pretty decent at the end of last season, holding the ball up well and bringing others into play, would have liked to have seen him for another season, because it must be a hell of a culture shock coming over here having lived in Argentina all your life, but needs must for us so it was farewell Denis, but great memories of the lad(some comedic and others not!!)and I'm sure he would always have a great welcome awaiting him if he ever came back!!

If anybody wants to send messages to Straq, I'm sure that @efc_andylewis would be willing to help. He's the media man at Everton and it was him who got the E-Mail up onto the website, he clearly has a contact of sorts for him, or his people.

My thoughts on Straq, is that, if he was to come this year, he wouldn't of had the same affect on me as he did. We have better players now. However, when he was here, you could see how determined he was, he was actually grateful to be playing for us, he gave thanks every time he played for us. He was exactly what we, as supporters needed at that time and maybe even exactly what the squad needed aswell. He was a reminder to everybody that being a professional footballer in this league is a privilege, and he worked bloody hard to stay as one.

I certainly wont forget him, but I just dont think he's needed here anymore.

He was determined that his year over here wouldn't be wasted, and that he would learn as much as possible to benefit himself, never giving anything less than his all.

In contrast to many in the modern game.

His message to the team and the fans was totally genuine and refreshing. I think thats what most of us saw him as and what endeared him to us, a guy who just loved to play for us and tried his best, every time.

He's a really great guy and I wish him the best.

I always thought he was really underrated. Once he got a few games under his belt he was the perfect target man. Never lost the wall, good link up play and worked his balls off. Gutted we didnt keep him as I would rather have him up front as cover for Jelavic than Anichebe or Velios

Will always love him, pure effort and put his heart into everything. Wouldnt hve done any harm getting him back on loan again from Tigre, before he moved to San Lorenzo.
