Straqsituation

Telling you, mate, some of his shots have been so ridiculous it's not even funny. It's like when he tw*ts it 4 yards over the bar it looks like he's done it deliberately and when he actually scores, it looks like an accident. And that's not being overly harsh. His link up play is surprisingly okay though and he's decent in the air but overall he's poor. I do really like the lid though and wish him the best.

Agreed some of his shots have been bad, which for a striker is kind of concerning. I do think the rest of his game has merit though. I just think its harsh that people call him crap or not a footballer etc. He very rarely loses the ball for us and brings other players into play. I dont think thats too bad a skill to have really.

Of course he aint nowhere near as good as Jelavic but as a squad player I think hes fine. I dont think he is nearly as bad as some people claim.

Surely being from the Argentinian league he'll be on about two-bob a week?

Defo need to keep a player who gets Lescott subbed for being overly harried, is right Denis.

Surprised so many people don't want to buy him.

You have to ask yourself - is he useful to the squad. And i would say yes.

He has had some great games this season and has helped turn our season around. Yes he doesnt have the best shot - can it be worked on? YES! He has a terrific work rate - more than anyone in our team, he can pass the ball well and link up well and get in those dangerous positions.

In my opinion he would be great playing alongside Jelavic, but if Jelavic is injured - who would you prefer, him or Anichebe? Both can score the odd goal, but one uses he pace and strength to his advantage and the other just moans.

Also think of how he is useful just to get the fans going. His work rate is something the fans love and it really does get the crowd abit louder. He is useful to Everton in alot of situations. Even if we are trying to hold a 1-0 lead at home, think of the amount of pressure it would relieve to have a big quick striker upfront constantly chasing the defenders and causing mistakes.

Sign him up Moyesey.

Totally agree.

I'd love to see him played alongside Jelavic before the end of the season. I think he'd link up better with him than Cahill. I think Straq is an intelligent link up player and we all know Jelavic has great movement. I think they'd scare the crap out of most teams.

Another great post.

He's really useful to our squad and despite Anichebe having a good season, all things considered with his injuries I'd prefer to have Straq on the pitch than Anichebe or Velios. If we can get him cheap we should buy him because at some point next season Jelavic will get injured and Anichebe + Cahill doesn't really appeal to me upfront.

Just because we have Jelavic doesnt mean we don't need a back up.

Alot of people loved Straq earlier in the season - and now we have Jelavic thats all changed? Why? Good squad player. As is Vellios but hes shagged Moyesys wife.

6 in 15 aside, I still think Anichebe is the most infuriating player i've ever seen in a blue shirt.

Get up off the floor and celebrate you f*cking tart.

Yep, he has strength and pace yet never uses it. He uses his left foot more than his right which is strange because right is his stronger foot. If he scores he doesn't celebrate - i mean your not Henry, go freaking mental when you score!!

Plus he does go down so easily and complains about it, rarely gets some decent passes made, and yeah - frustrating!!

Heads over hearts lads, he's an awful awful player & he's been very lucky to have played in the prem.
Although I thanks him for the effort he showed & wish him well.
