I think that if we were in europe, or if we get a decent amount of cash to spend on 4/5 new players then i'd bring him in. There would be absolutely no harm and surely he wouldn't cost alot.

Agreed some
of his shots have been bad, which for a striker is kind of concerning. I do think the rest of his game has merit though. I just think its harsh that people call him crap or not a footballer etc. He very rarely loses the ball for us and brings other players into play. I dont think thats too bad a skill to have really.

Of course he aint nowhere near as good as Jelavic but as a squad player I think hes fine. I dont think he is nearly as bad as some people claim.

Jelavic then picks up a injury that is gonna keep him out a couple of months... Youd be happy with straq for that period??

Or we pick up another striker on a free or loan whos of better quality. Rodellaga for eg. is available free.

Just a note about this "100% workrate" business. He's being paid to do a job, he better bloody give 100%. That doesn't mean he's good enough though. Christ Moyes and Kenwright have done well to lower some expectations around here.

He defended from the front and hustled every game. He gets a positive reaction from the fans and it works in our favour his too. I hope he signs because we could use him in a number of games next Season. Deserves the chance if you ask me.

On the whole, I like Straq - he works his bag off and it does seem to give everyone around him a lift. However - and apologies if this has already been posted - 'Tigre have indicated that they would want a fee in excess of £5m for a permanent transfer' according to the OS/Echo.

I don't want him to sign that much...

He did well when he actually got a few games for us. You have to remember he came in from a foreign country, hes still only young and it takes time to settle in as well.

Im not actually saying we should sign him, especially with the scenario you said. I just object to people saying that he is rubbish. He isnt, he is a good target man who links play up well. He will never be a top goalscorer over here but not everyone can be. Kevin Davies aint but he has been a useful player for a good while now in the top flight.

As for Rodellega - he certainly looks the part, but I feel he flatters to deceive. Straq doesn't look the part, but actually does quite well. I am in the Vellios camp - but is Moyes?
