Straq's last two performances

I swear that in 35 years of watching Everton I haven't seen a gutsy, full blooded, committed performance from a player as I witnessed from Denis last night. Of course I've seen more culture through the years, but to see an Everton player (on loan!) almost run himself to a stand still for the cause almost made me cry with joy. Sounds soppy but this fella epitomises everything DM's Everton have ever been and reminded me of Big Dunc in his pomp at times last night.

He's just beaten into submission Hangerland, Kompany and Lescott, three top quality CBs. Just imagine last night all over again, put Saha in instead of Straq and try and think what a different performance you'd have got from the front man. I believe that that lazy, borderline petulance would've gone through the team and we would've seen a different EFC.

I didn't rate him. Called him the Argie Brett Angel. I'm a pissflap. Sorry Denis, I love you.

FFS that made me laugh on the phone to someone at work. That'll teach me to browse GOT at work, won't it.

Never heard/seen a better standing ovation for a player who hasnt scored in the game!! It was fully deserved though, he has been great the past few matches, hope he doesnt get dropped for Jelavic, 2 up front!!!!

Big lad syndrome. At that build you need to be fully match fit AND playing every single week. He was blowing out of his arse after 70mins though understandably.

Now he's there it's all come together for him and I'm delighted. He sounds like the player described by the Argentine bloke on the Followtonians podcast in August. Every footballer moving into the EPL comments how much of a step up it is in terms of physicality and pace.

I remember speaking with Gordon Strachan about James Beattie's apparent decline at Goodison. He said, "if he's not 110% fit, there's no use playing him. He's useless coming off the bench." Makes sense, barring the numerical discrepancy which I didn't pick him up on at the time.

ever since he came alot and i mean ALOT of people on here slated him to death even tho he got an assist in his 1st game....
but i always thought he would come good given the chance no i think he should be one of the 1st names on our team sheet, we have needed someone like him for a while now!!
lol at moyes shouting "come on den den" and a few different names to him during the match

Btw im not happy with straq, i had a 2-0 bet with Straq to score, i would have won 1k, WHY STRAQ. WHY DIDNT YOU SCORE.

Put himself about last night. He's full of heart.

Let's not go overboard though. This feller is very limited. If we're to move forward as a club we have to leave the likes of Straquelersi behind. As unhopeful as I am about the ability of Jelavic to make the grade down here in our league, he is the type of mobile and qucik thinking player we need to start making a dent in opposition defences again.

This, although he has played relatively well in a footballing sense as well these last couple of games. I just love the work rate. Choosing between him and Jelavic will be a [Poor language removed] for Moyes which is a testament to how good he's been. Top man.

Unless Moyes goes with two upfront at Wigan (which he should but wont) Denis should start. I doubt there's any debate about Moyes going with Jelavic after that pretty much every game to the end of the season, though. He's just paid a decent fee for him and he wants to show iwhy he paid it.

we should drop cahill to make space for jelavic then because if straccy keeps playing the way he is now then he shouldnt get dropped at all. to the people saying hes not the most gifted player.... we have seen him go past more people than r ricky Mr. drenthe who is meant to be sick at getting past people... so do the maths
