Stop Owling Around - Sheffield Wednesday's Dilemma

I think he just wanted to hurt them for not worshipping him enough

Felt similar about our previous owner and board
Started out quite positive, reached a few play offs, lost a final, then sort of didn't follow it up, but it's hard going to make it into the yoyo club bracket, it's like a mini league of it's own, the financials of playing a prem season on a guaranteed hiding and taking the money and then distinguishing yourself as a club from the rest of the championship means being able to have a few quid to keep making the play offs and bring talent through. Southampton are probably the prime example, good turn over of academy players, not afraid to blood a few in the championship and give them minutes in the shop window in the PL and rake in top dollar. See Dibling.
As an aside, it seems the three promoted sides have all gambled this season on giving it a go and trying to replace a prem side. It also looks like Coventry are going great guns and clobbering all and sundry on their march to a title. Last in the PL in 2001. leeds were gone from 03-04 to 20-21.

This’ll be yet another example of “you can’t punish the fans” not being applied cos it ain’t the greedy six.

Seeing news of 777……. Had the got control this would have been us.
How hard can it be to have a fairer outcome?

Why not force the sale in case of administration, minimum price is pay off debts and obligations and they are paid before the old owners get a red cent. Re-set the PSR balance to the average of the league and carry on.

The bad owner gets the @#£&ing, not the club. Presumably any club in that position is in big trouble so this might help in the short term to at least get the club competitive and gives some time to rectify the root problems and overpriced contracts to expire.

Right now, there's no reason Wednesday can't be wound up and cease to exist- surely this is insanity as there's a viable club there if well run.

Meanwhile other teams can spend nearly half a billion in one window. They still call it a sport.

Equally we tolerate billionaires while paupers starve in the same country and we still call ourselves human.
There does seem to be a bit of a thing with Asian owners and football though. Sheff Wed, Leicester, Cardiff, Wolves, Birmingham, and numerous clubs abroad. They seem to be happy to put money in at the start, then when the reality of how much it costs to actually run a football club they start losing their wallets all of a sudden totally ignoring the impact it has on people. Ultimately yes, the money is the root of many problems in the game.

Playthings, baubles for the rich. Bugger rhe impact it has on the people, the fans, who have invested lifetimes in creating their transient bauble. Hate it. We should eat them.
