We are crying out for this lad in my opinion.

Yes he has failed to reproduce the form he showed on loan from Spurs on a consistent basis, but even his now sporadic moments of intelligence are so important to our side.

McGeady is playing well and should retain his place on the right. On the left though we are desperate for this little fella to get fit and bring some balance to the side.

What do others think?
That first 45 mins at Leicester with him and Baines linking up was one of my favourite bits of football of the whole season so far.

Don't think he has the energy for the very fast matches now even without his injury problems but if fit he's one of the first names on the teamsheet against a side that like to sit back. We have very few players that can either open up a packed defence with a pass like he can or who consistently win us free kicks in dangerous areas.

Wish he was at his best, him and Baines were different class.

I fear he's past his best though and have no idea what's going on with him this season..

If he's fit he'd be the left winger with Kev on the right and would save all this unbalance.

Is he going to be fully fit though?

Think Oviedo is his best replacement, he'd bring balance and it's not playing anyone out of position and accommodating.

Why is it he's suddenly over the hill? He's never been lightening quick, he's quick footed and smart. That's not just up and left him. He will prove very useful this season still.

Stevie P has given us many memorable moments, but his star is starting to fade.
A decent squad player for the rest of this season, but maybe for both our and his sake, he/we should be looking for him to move on in the summer... and probably the same can be said for both Gibson and the Birdman of Alcaraz... and if Browning improves quickly, then Hibbo as well. We need to make the squad younger, fitter and quicker, both in terms of pace and thinking - can't afford players who succumb to injuries too easily or are patently slowing down.

Has always been a favourite of mine due to his skills and cleverness. Very rarely lost possession and won us loads of free kicks. The player is at the moment a very poor shadow of himself and his passing is getting really bad. He is also finding it difficult to keep the ball. Hope he can get back to form but I suspect his better days are long gone and we are now seeing the demise of a gifted footballer.

the thing I love about pienaar is his ability to get his body between the ball and the opposition player. they either foul him or watch him lay it off to bainsey

Why is there a myth he slows stuff down? He's not playing and the team couldn't be any slower. Whenever i see him he's trying to inject some speed into the play but gives the ball away because we just don't have the players to play the one touch game. Baines slows the play, Distin does, Barry does massively, Lukaku does. They do it by passing backwards and killing the momentum. Just because Pienaar keeps hold of possession, pins his man then spins off him to go forward does not mean he's slowing the play down. For me we're better with him in the side and he's still one of the first namesfor me when fit.
