I think he's trying hard to get back the ground he lost with Rangers fans after he jumped ship. I doubt it will work though. He's avoiding talking about the real reason that set him apart from the other's jumping that ship and why he's singled out: he stated that Rangers didn't exist anymore. That's where the venom toward naismith springs from. That's a matter for them, of course. But Naismith is being disingenuous there by lumping himself in with the likes of Whittaker, Davis, etc etc. I doubt he'll ever put matters straight with that lot if he doesn't front up that issue and apologise for making the statement. Presumably he'd want to square it off for the sake of family still up there.
He's only talking about himself there. The journalist does all the taking about Rangers and he just answers questions.
He only says "it was a horrible situation to be in".
(he's got a family to feed and it wasn't his fault Rangers hadn't been paying the tax man).
"Throughout the whole thing the biggest thing for us players was that [no non-playing staff were] made redundant, and we did that part of it, but then when it got even further down the line…", he did not need to finish the point, the clincher was coming.
"Now there's criminal activity being suggested, so over time I'm sure the truth will come out."
"Looking back I would definitely have done some things differently," Naismith said.
"None of us wanted to leave that way, but I think all of us can say we did all we could.
"But fans always have their opinions, and that's their right. They pay good money to come and watch. They are the backbone of a club, especially one like Rangers,
"I think over the last two to three years they've been treated appallingly, and for everybody's sake
I hope it gets better and they can get back into the division they deserve to be in and challenging for trophies."
So reality is he's been quite magnanimous. Like the true Evertonian he is.
That must really make you fume.

By fraud they mean that they've defrauded creditors and the tax man and shareholders potentially over the sale.
