To be honest, i can't believe what i'm seeing.
I remember going to Southampton last year, and going mental at the lad playing the whole 90 minutes, as opposed to Jelavic. It just goes to show what hard work and a bit of perseverance does to a player.
Firstly, well done to the lad, for giving 110% every single week, we know he's not a Messi, or Ronaldo, but he's what we need, a player who's willing to run at defenders, and run his legs off tirelessly, it works wonders for our ability to break down defenses. Never gives up, and as a blue, we all know how much we love a trier!
Secondly, well done Martinez, for well, persistently putting faith in the lad, we know he's not a starter, but Martinez' clearly saw the potential in the lad, and credit where credit's due, he's let the paitient Naismith have his go, in his desired position, and the results are there for all to see. He may not be a starter, but he's an excellent asset to have off the bench.
His performance today was sublime, he was everywhere. From showing Lukaku how to head a ball, to excellent lay offs, and excellent all round play, he did what was required of him and a hell of a lot more.
In 14 months i've gone from the biggest Naismith hater, to an actually lover of the lad. Well done Mate, keep it up.
