Smart footballer too, had an uncanny ability to make a great run that would pull defenders out the game. Unfortunately we never had a midfielder with the nouse to spot this and play Lukaku or whoever in consistently.

Just one percent of this would help out so much. Its astonishing to me that Naismiths generosity makes him such an outlier.

I thought he was quite a clever player, I liked him.

The 'false 9' support striker role seemed to suit him best. Made some very clever runs. More of an 'on his day' type player but as at least one other poster has said, for that hattrick v Chelsea alone I'll always remember him fondly.
