I like the boy King.

He's injured and on a five year deal, though.

Weird we didn't follow through with a move for him in the summer when we supposedly spoke with B'Mouth and the player himself and they were interested in a deal.
While he's not had the best return this season, after our discussion yesterday about proven, available strikers his name instantly came to mind.

I think he's got a lot of attributes that we need: someone who is strong and confident; pacey with good acceleration; a fair finishing ability.

Obviously his hamstring injury isn't ideal, but if the injury isn't long-term (reports suggest they're not sure) then maybe it'd be worth enquiring.

I'd be more inclined to think however that with Defoe injured and their place in the league not too secure then they'd be reluctant to sell him.

As I said mate, supposedly we went for him in the summer (when he only had a year left I think on his deal) and then for some stupid reason didn't pursue. Thought since last Feb/March he'd be ideal for us!

He's got everything we require and is versatile. Would also be interested in the move but after they didn't sell him he signed a 5 year deal so I reckon they'd want £30m at the least.

Our naivety, or potentially our incompetence, in transfer dealings is a reoccurring factor; this was the point I was failing to make yesterday.

Speaking purely hypothetically, if we could have gone back three week's then I'd have focused on King's signature rather than on Tosun.

Proven in the league, less chance of failing to adapt, lots of attributes we need and a price not far off what we're playing for our Turkish import.

Obviously that's ignoring factors such as King's injury, Bourmemouth's position and now we're getting Tosusn, hence why it's simply hypothetical.

It's not a criticism of Tosun individually and I'll support the him and the deal; rather, I feel that we're once again being somewhat short-sighted.

Perhaps my ebbing confidence in our transfer dealings has come from our apparent ad hoc and short-sighted methodology in the Summer window!
