I could have done better than Walsh pre-season, we had Rooney, we had Barkley and should have sacked Koeman as soon
as he started bad-mouthing him, I said at the time go for Fabian Delph and Jack Wilshere (We'd have got them for a song),
I said go for Vardy at any price because we'll need him. I also said Spurs might have a right back. I got 'slated' by most of you and not one agreed with me. I saw one game with Pickford and said he was a phony, I see there's not too many of you singing his praises now.

Fabian Delph i can understand a case for, Jack Wilshere definitely not. There's a reason he ended up at Bournemouth last Season and why no one really attempted to get him in the Summer.

You weren't the only one who wanted Vardy, so pipe down with the 'i told you so' attitude.

Keyword MIGHT. Despite selling Walker and signing Aurier, they wouldn't have sold us Trippier, not a chance.

You couldn't be more wrong if you tried. Everyone has done nothing but praise the lad and most if not all the fanbase feel sorry for him having to play behind our shambolic defence.

It's a good opportunity to clarify Walsh's role, with getting a new manager in.

He can surely recommend players through a scouting process, but this idea that he has to agree a signing with the manager is ludicrous. Enough of that, it needs to stop now.

Whoever is brought in as boss just needs to know the budget, and the final say on all signings should be left to the manager, and the manager alone.

Koeman also wanted Rooney.

We knew we were getting Rooney and you are saying Koeman wanted both Klassen and Sigurdsson?

I find that hard to believe especially considering he was the first dropped.
Personally I don't think koeman did, not to the extent to go and get him. The deal was probably done months in advance by kenwright thinking he was signing some world class player for peanuts, koeman isn't exactly going to bad mouth the player he knows he is getting?

I believe koeman did want both of them. Siggurdson to play on the left as he did and klassen as Barkley replacement in the side. Take into account for both of them to work we need a centre forward to play to their strengths which we never brought in.

As for dropping players, take into account klassen was first choice in June whence signed him and somehow became 4th choice by the start of the season because of our crazy transfer policy. If klassen had not had 3 other players in his position then maybe we may have got to see more of him so far

I think the board has put most of the blame on Koeman or else Steve Walsh would be gone with him.

I think RK was specific and demanding in the players he wanted and the board understood that it was very difficult for Steve Walsh to get them over the line.
We know Giroud was at FF but thankfully had a last minute change of mind.
We know how difficult and costly it was to get Sigurdsson. I think these were targets of RK and he really didn't want anybody else.
I would say Klaasen was a RK target as well.

This isn't a comment about the players but more a comment that possibly Steve Walsh did not have the control or authority. he might have expected

Can't believe you guys are still doing this! This thread has been constantly going for 3 months with about 4 points made. I don't understand how you can all still be moaning and debating who was a koeman signing, who was a Walsh signing, who's fault it was we didn't buy a striker and who decides what on transfers.

I don't understand how you're still making the exact same points day in day out.
