There you go lads, Niasse was signed for Everton by Leicester scout Steve Walsh 4 weeks before anyone knew who Farhad Moshiri was.

The point i was making mate, was that the poor recruitment of Niasse and a general suspicion that something wasnt right in the deal, prompted the club/Mosh to appoint a director of football for good corporate governance, transparency and not making recruitment a unilateral process.

I think you got the wrong end of the stick, or rather my post in poorly worded.

Ahh ok yeah, I get that now

Let's hope he's been doing some work the past few months.

Evidently, he has been...

He's learning the role, as is the club.

Not every signing will be a 'Walsh signing' though. Schneiderlin and Depay, should they materialise, for example, are probably players Koeman knows can come in and help us out immediately. Lookman (should that come off) would be more of a Walsh arrival.

But both DoF and manager will work closely to identify the positions that need strengthening, and then the scouts find the goods.

The Summer was always going to be rough. We introduced a new structure whilst also bringing in a new Manager and a brand new DoF. Obviously we are all annoyed at how disappointing it was but the Club and Walsh/Koeman will have learned from it and we will be stronger/better in future windows im sure of it.
