Surely with his mate Big Sam coming in, we are protecting him and building around him rather than jibbing him off. Man should be fired immediately, the fact we don’t know exactly what he does or how involved he is is more damning because he’s clearly happy to hide in the grey areas. Anyone worth a damn wouldve sorted the defence and striker situation last summer rather than signing 4 attacking mids.

Moshiri made the final call.

I've got a feeling Walsh will be off, just not yet.

Oh i know exactly when Walsh will go, at exactly the same moment that Allardyce leaves the club also mate, exactly like happened when they had the same arrangment and fleeced Newcastle and left it full of dross.

Moshiri is basically accepting the damage that gonna be done in those regards and the damage to the club reputation, in order to survive this season, he 'may' be thinking ahead 5-6 years down the line, for him it's easy as he's not a fan, win lose or draw it has no real impact on his life, he is a person who wants a stadium built

He does that mate, we have no need to go and hire his friend do we?

I am still very much in favour of a director of football role.

All sensible clubs operate with someone who will assess the needs of the squad, have a good look at who is coming through the system, see what gaps there are and provide options for the coach for new players to add in. When a managerial change is required he'll have a list of options for the board about who would suit the style of play we are working towards.

For some reason we appear to have appointed an assistant manager / chief scout to that role who has just randomly purchased players and given jobs to the boys. What was it about the transfer market successes at Hull, Newcastle etc that got the people he has appointed the jobs they have?

Of all the managers in the world the one he goes to the board with is his mate who hasn't stayed more than a season or two in any job in 10+ years.

I'm willing to judge him on January's transfer window

Whose to say Walsh didn't have a whole list of strikers willing to join us in the summer and koeman being the brash arrogant person he seems to be said Giroud or no-one??
Walsh has done his job and supplied the options??!?!

Yep lets just give him another opportunity to blow tens of millions again, not likes it the most important transfer window in our history or anything

We don't know though do we.... all i'm saying is that he has presented the players to Koeman and he's said No for whatever reason....

He admitted himself it was a joint decision between him and koeman about who comes in, at the end of the day he has had a hand in all this and that should be enough to see him booted out. Failed every transfer window since he's been here, can't afford another one

In honesty why isn't he gone today? Why are we risking him ruining another transfer window? Does accountability begin and end with the manager?

Because even though we all ask what has he done, a DoF is in place for the long term and leaving now when we are in such a state just shreds up whatever has been built.

IMO, he should have gone with Koeman.

There's no point having stability of the guy isn't up to the job though.

Why are we re-enforcing a guys position who has failed in his role? Is that what Everton has come too?

Due to the fact Walsh hasn't been sacked I really think this is the case. Most reports over the last year or two seem to be suggesting that there's been a confusing mix of responsibility when it's come to decisions over transfers. I'm guessing Moshiri is pretty clued in to seeing that the decision making process is problematic and is willing to give Walsh a chance less hindered. We could argue that he should have been more assertive but that's easier said than done when there's organisational problems. I wouldn't write him off just yet.
