Who’s going to do that exactly? Our Board is as clueless really.

Laughable football club at the moment Everton.

I don't know what will happen with regards to anything at Everton. This club is a shambles! But im sure Moshiris best buddy Jim White will be the first to know.We must have the poorest millionaire on the planet as our owner!

Think we're all tilting at the wrong windmills right now to be honest. Whoever the club bring in next as DOF or manager is just going to try to do the same things that have no history of working.

Walsh and Koeman both probably need to go, but unless they bring in someone with new ideas, we're just going to have this same conversation in two years.

Someone that has actually achieved success would do for a start?
Koeman as a Manager is a spud, yet Moshiri, and many supporters, can't distinguish between his playing career and his Managerial.

Still can't fathom out why he couldn't identify a striker since last march, when he knew lukaku was on his way. Arguably his most significant business this summer that is having the biggest impact on the side, is not replacing him.

Koeman picks the team and tactics so when we suck we can understandably blame him.

None of us here know exactly how transfers are done at Everton in regards to Walsh and Koeman so I really don't see the point in us slagging him off.

If we get a new manager and transfers are solely done by Walsh and they suck then sure have a go.

Cos they were hoping to dazzle Lukaku with 'big names' and try to get him to change his mind? When that didn't happen they started fumbling late back up plans.

Gana, DCL, Onyekuru, Vlasic, Sandro - not a lot spent and look good value in the long run. Ok, jury is out on Onyekuru and Sandro but I can see them improving etc over time. Credit for these.

Stekelenburg, Martina, Siggurddson, Klaassen are all Koemans doing.

Then there's Rooney, maybe a bit of both?

Don't really think it's fair to blame Walsh, but what do I know eh

Without knowing all the facts hard to say he deserves to go he might of identified a dozen targets but over ruled by koeman or deals fell through at boardroom level .it's a very clouded situation.

Appreciate your point, but in literally every transfer window Koeman has been public about what he wants and we've not delivered.

What is the role of a Director of Football at Everton? When he's pictured roaming around Italy - what is he doing?

Perhaps on transfers - we have too many involved/deferred responsibility.

FFS lad

Both Koeman and Walsh agree on the targets. It has been said by both so many times that only when they both agree is a move made.

However, Walsh does have the added responsibility of leading the team of scouts and also entering negotiations with players and clubs. Koeman doesn't do that.

The failure to get a striker is probably a bit of everybody.

I know they both have to agree mate, but it's obvious where the target/idea came from?

The issue seems to be that Walsh's role is not defined and delineated clearly enough.

I think for the DOF role to work correctly he has to sit on the board and the manager is directly accountable to the DOF.

The DOF can have an input for transfers, but the manager has the final say on players joining or leaving the 1st team squad.

With us, I have read that both RK/SW have to "agree" on a target but it simply can't work like that. What happens then is that people compromise to avoid conflict and that is the last thing we need.

There are plenty of things for Walsh to focus on and be effective in concerning the longer term at the club like the academy, sports science, negotiation with players, liaison with the board on football matters etc.

But transfers should be left to the manager. It seems that Walsh has either been told to act as Chief Scout and little else rather than fully encompass what a DOF should be, or he doesn't have the character traits required to embrace what should in theory be a leadership role.
