Everton are interested in Newcastle United fullback Stephen Carr. Carr is off contract in June and has been linked with West Ham, while the Evening Chronicle says Everton and Celtic are also keen.

After seeing a lot of him over the years in World Cups etc, wouldnt be the worst signing in the world he could do the Valente role at right back, hes certainly a better right full then Hibbert and far more enterprising then Neville!

I recall saying that he'd be another squad player and we aren't looking to buy more squad players.

We're aiming a bit higher in terms of quality.
