Ive got my internet hands on all 11 movies in Bluray, and for the past couple of days been on a massive bender.
The Motion Picture right through to Generations so far with a few more to watch.
Observations so far...
a fist fight with Kirk will last at least a minute before you'd end rolling around on the floor with him. Unless he's fighting himself where its mere seconds.
Every film follows the same arc, The Federation gets a distress call but is always caught well short with the Enterprise the only ship in the Quadrant; Space fight ensues, with the Klingons/Aliens gaining the advantage and the Enterprise crew marooned/incarcerated in some situation/planet; theres a life affirming realisation/resolution in said situation/planet after some hijinks; Kirk decides to do something having let the film go on long enough and promptly has a fight/beams about/does something cool; the Enterprise invariably gets destroyed/decomissioned and the crew head home/yonder.
Aside from Space and other Planets, the only two locations used in the films are San Francisco and Yellowstone National Park.
The Klingons always get better actors.
Best : Star Trek 2 : The Wrath of Khan
Worst : Star Trek 5 : The Undiscovered Country
Kirk only gets to snog one chick in the whole series. Iman in Star Trek 6, and she turns out to be a super fugly shape-shifter.
McCoy is the best actor on the crew.
Sulu turned down an appearance in Generations, because he would have to bust himself down a rank, and he claimed his character had worked too hard to give up his captaincy. That's Hardcore.
Hottest Alien : Cynthia Gouw : Star Trek 5
Best Baddie : Ricardo Montalban : Star Trek 2
Worst Baddie : Christoper Lloyd : Star Trek 3
Random thing I noticed to finish off the thread: In a bar scene in Star Trek 5, there is an Alien Pole dancing Cat Woman with THREE BREASTS. Ripped Total Recall or the other way round? Ill get to the bottom of it.
