No one would argue with Howard Kendall being remembered. The stadium happened despite Kenwright being involved. Moshiri funded it which made it happen relatively quickly, but we were close to getting the funding for the Kings dock, only for Kenwright to stick his oar in and it fell by the wayside. He spent over 2 decades holding the club back while we were making great progress getting back to the top on the pitch, just so he could get a rich guy to splurge a load of cash and he could stay front of center in the directors box. Kenwright became more passionate about keeping control of the club rather than making the club moving forward, and not many people want a lasting reminder to those times.
With the Kings Dock, it was a massive missed opportunity, I think everyone will accept that. But I don’t accept that we didn’t get it because “Kenwright stuck his oar in”. Where it fell down is he didn’t secure the required funding and missed a key deadline, but when the deadline came Kenwright had 2 options, he either sold off a portion of the club for less than what he thought it was worth, for 10% of the funding for the stadium, or have the stadium owned by someone else and we pay rent. I don’t think any of us would have been happy being in a rented stadium, look at what has happened to teams like Coventry.

He should get something at the new stadium, I would love a statue of Nev, but a stand would be a great tribute as well.

I kind of feel like the stands are going to be named after sponsors. I remember when we signed deals with Castore and Christopher Ward there was a big thing about them being “founder sponsors” or something like that, made me thing that at least 2 of the stands may just be named after them.
The Neville Southall halftime goalpost?

Coventry were a team that made up the numbers in the PL, and moved to the new ground with huge debts and a team that were on a downward spiral.
Kenwright always said he was looking 24/7 to find a new owner for the club, but there`s a lot of folks think the owner he was looking for was one that would keep him front and center at the club, and he found such an owner in Moshiri.

I do hope they come up with something better than North, South, East and West

Even if it's City End, Riverside Stand, Regent Rd Stand etc etc
Think the south stand should be called the Zip tie goalpost stand. This in honour of one of our hero’s from last few seasons, and of course I’m taking about the just stop oil protest guy. His intervention that night gave us the extra time we needed to score the winner.

How about naming each stand after a Beatle? True they have no connection to football, but away fans coming to the new ground will assume they were Everton fans and that will annoy the RS no end as they can't claim them
