KMBC can and will pass their Tesco masters plan next week. But so what? Those flunkies dont make the decision, fortunately.

I think a nice long Inquiry or judicial review is in order here....say 5 ears or so.

You seem quite happy that this could leave everton in the [Poor language removed]. I was a No voter but even i can see we could be well fukked here. With no plan b we could fall well behind many club.

I'm hoping if this gets called in we ditch it quick and re-examine more sustainable options. The council have been desperately making noises about extending the footprint of GP, it's time for them to put up or shut up.

Just dont know how this would work? play a season with onlt two sides of a ground. an then want to spend 40m in the summer. Can we afford this??

We're getting left behind other clubs? Funny that, I thought we were progressing under Moyes to 4th/5th/6th place in the Premiership...all at a "dangerous" Goodison Park, fit only for Burscough United or someone. We're in limbo now because we cant get any investment into the boardroom. We go to Kirkby and we'll be paying off debts for the next decade before any substantial effect will be made onfield...and that's if we get attendances over and above what we get right now....fancy taking that chance do you?

We are pretty skrewed if the kirkby proposal gets called in, we have no plan B and we really do need to be maximazing our recent avances in the league and in europe in terms of financial gain to make any real ground on the big 3 and liverpool in terms of global poularity and income. The only way we can do that is to have a bigger, better stadium.
Goodison has been a great place for everton over the years but we have come to a point where our success is being limited by it. The Kirkby project will give us a lot more revenue from gate receits, granted it will give us more debt, but you dont see the likes of Man utd, Real and Barce for instance, playing in a 40,000 seater old decripid stadium. We really do NEED the kirkby project to get the go ahead. I personally don't see what all the negativity around moving out of liverpool is about, kirkby is a stones throw away and is as scouse as you can get.

First step would be a double tiered Park End with better corporate provision. This would raise capacity to approx 45k.

There is always the facility to have a hotel with conference facilities backing off the Park End (with perhaps a Football Museum on the Ground Floor containing the France collection, overlooking the birthplace of football in the City) The 1878 Hotel, has a nice ring to it.

There have been numerous studies as to how the impact of the construction works could be mitigated.. coordination with the FA over the scheduling of home games being one option that has succeeded for others in the past... the last case study is, I think, still in the Stadium section on Toffeeweb.

The Key is to Stage the works so that they become mainly self funding. Bullens would follow next, then the street end and a finally the reprofiled Main Stand. It would take considerably longer than Kirkby, but would be a far more sustainable prospect financially exposing us to far less debt and risk.

We also know that the transport infrastructure is up to the job, and that the fanbase is united over the location.

One benefit of not being an enabler for someone else's Project (essentially what we were in Kirkby) is that we can actually take our time to design a Stadium that is identifiably the home of EFC.

You dont see them playing in a stadium that is only capable of holding 60,000 either. If the Kirkby location does prove to be the answer then surely that is too limited in the long term?

The problem though with just adding a tier to the Park End is that we're not creating more space for the St End. If it was buily correctly originally with a long term vision then it should have been built further back.

If the Park End was done properley in the first place then we wouldn't have been in this mess. The stadium could have been completed by now and we could have been gaining from it.
