Garbutt is the biggest surprise for me. I was sure he would have a barnstorming year at Fulham then come back and really challenge Baines. With the Blue tinted glasses off, his only above average skill is set piece delivery and you can't carry a player for that alone. It's a shame but I would trust Koeman's view of a defender over my own.
Yeah, same here. Did have high hopes for him though

It's the fact that every fan knew almost immediately that he was crap, yet Bobby kept trying to defend him......

Well he was hardly going to say hes crap is he??

Oh and for those saying he didnt know what was going on etc, He is an international player, lets not act like he was plucked off the street or something. It just didnt work out, it happens at every club.

Still find the whole business with him fishy as anything. It's well odd.

Agreed, think we simply got fooooookd by shady agents from wherever. Honestly think the whole Niasse deal was the catalyst for getting a director of sport, it became obvious we needed to step up the quality on our negotiations and integrity.

Not remotely arsed about any of them leaving, none have contributed in any meaningful way.

Was about to say I'm surprised that Kone was given a number, but I think he's just very fortunate that we've no option but to keep him for now, Koeman's hand is forced a bit there.

Niasse is the most baffling signing I've ever seen us make. Yes, worse than Kroldrup. Even from Niasse's YouTube reel he looks utter turd - bumbling, tumbling and scoffing his way through until some sweaty little deflection comes off in his favour.

Quite literally looks like one of the lads at astro who's never kicked a ball until college when the others invited him along. Sheer terror in their eyes when the ball is played to them, not knowing which way to turn in their flowery shorts and converse, before toeing it back to the keeper at the most awkward height ever. That bloke is him, the lad we signed for 13.5 million pounds.

What's our name?

I stand by my thoughts that garbuttis a very good player. Lack of opportunities here has harmed general perception of him but I think he will have a very good career in this league either here or elsewhere.

Considering Barkley didn't impress on loan in the championship either it isn't really a marker for how good they are.
Even Harry Kane looked awful in the championship, so we've probably definitely got England's next big star!
