Squad Members without numbers

I was disappointed to see Cleverley handed a number.

The only number some of them need starts with 'P' and ends in 45.

Unless Garbutt's turned uber-gash, He could most probably get a contract at his old loan club -Cheltenham(?)...

iirc Martinez gave him a new contract worth 30K, then dropped him, then loaned him out. I bet he rues the day Martinez came, well most of us do tbh. It all went downhill for him after that Interview he did around the Newcastle game...bit of a vindictive sod on the sly that Roberto, as Silvan, Samuel, Leighton and others found out...It will all come out eventually - It always does, can't wait.

So, we have four members of the squad who have failed to convince Koeman.

1. Aidan McGeady - completely obvious he was never going to cut the mustard.

2. Leandro Rodriguez - was a punt on a nominal fee.

3. Luke Garbutt - showed potential but perhaps not up to Premier League standard.

4. Omar Niasse - Unequivocally the most disastrous signing and an indelible stain on Everton Football Club.
Don't get me wrong, I bear the lad no ill-will but you could tell he had no idea what was going on from the moment he stepped foot in the ground. (Remember that odd canter around the middle of the pitch, yeah.)

Along with those four, I'm fairly certain our current whole central midfield is up for sale too.

So the question is - what do we do with them? And who on earth can we convince to buy them? Do we release them? Or just stick them in the reserves?

It is abundantly clear this is a huge re-structuring job and it's a bloody good job we've got some cash to spend otherwise we would be in massive trouble.

I think McGeady will be most difficult to shift.

Garbutt still has potential and fit into a newly promoted/ Championship team.

Niasse looks Turkey-bound because he did pretty well there in the past.

Leandro will probably head home to Uruguay.

Another player that wasn't mentioned is McAleny. Surely the end of the road for him with us now?

...I think it was sensible to get Garbutt on a new contract last season even if I was amazed he signed one (rather than leave on a Bosman). Unfortunately he was out on loan when Baines got injured and Galloway grabbed his opportunity. I fear Garbutt is now down the pecking order and Galloway is the next cab on the rank.

I suspect we would let him leave if we can recoup reasonable monies for him.

Gutted about Garbutt, genuinely thought he would make it and also seemed happy here. Just not kicked on I suppose. Worth a gamble by someone- think it could come back to haunt us. Sad for McAleny too - was obviously desperate to make it but needs to move on. Personally disgusted that Kone is still number 9. Get rid. Anyone here think Berahino would be worth a punt? Only Stoke been in for him

Kone and Gibson with 4 and 9.

Disgrace
Why ?

We need a squad of over 20 outfield players, most of the youngsters do not look ready for regular first team action yet and in any event you need experience.
Kone is already under contract for one more season and at the moment we have no midfielder at the club who controls the game as Gibson does. I think it is/was intended that he would understudy Witsel.

Kone should be let go.

Would be a better use of £10 million simply to free up the number 9 shirt that should NEVER of been given to Kone
