garbutt was about 3 yrs older than barkley was when on loan to championship. and barkley did alright apart from under warnock for a month
 

Perhaps Martinez will be keen on some of these players if he gets the Hull job. Moyes might also be keen on having a punt on players like Gibson that he signed before.
 

How does Niasse rate in terms of all-time bad first div/prem transfers, do we reckon? Loads of money he was, for almost literally nothing in on-pitch terms.

Or any terms, really.

Just wonder how many others have been quite as disastrous, and for similar money?

Could he be worst ever?

Oh no wait, there's always Andy Carroll for £35mil. Cheers RS, you're always good for saving blushes.

Still though, £13.5mil or whatever? Rubbish

Usually they do refunds or swaps with those type of things. But agreed it is very annoying. That's why I never get players on the back of my shirt. Don't look the fool when player leaves or changes number.

Pretty sure big sam signed someone years ago African player can't remember his name. Think when he was at Bolton.

Soldado? Falcao? Veron? He's in a very elite bracket of utter dross. Probably technically the worst player though.
 

Garbutt is the biggest surprise for me. I was sure he would have a barnstorming year at Fulham then come back and really challenge Baines. With the Blue tinted glasses off, his only above average skill is set piece delivery and you can't carry a player for that alone. It's a shame but I would trust Koeman's view of a defender over my own.
