Does anyone think that Moyes doesn't really try untried players unless he really has to. For example this Guaye lad, what's the point in signing him to leave him on the bench?

The subs coming on today were obvious, and all the subs that come on are obvious all season.

People like Guaye may start to think, well if I can't get a game with 5 top players out, what chance do I have? Sometimes you need to take a chance on players, he's certainly pushing Billy more often then he should in a wide position.

Or is this just the way the league is, and no side really brings different subs on, unless they are out of sight.

Moyes tends to like having new young players around the side and on the bench for a while before putting them in the team. He always has going right from Rooney to Rodwell and Coleman. Gueye will get his chance but it probably won't be until after christmas

I think what I'm saying is that it's all a little obvious. Why not unleash someone new onto the scene, someone that nobody knows.

I have to admit I wanted to see Gueye get some game time, if only for the last 30 minutes.

However he's only 20, and he's come from the French second division. Give him time.

I'm torn to be honest, mate.

On the one hand I agree with you that it'll be nice to see something a bit different in games where we're struggling but OTOH we've got a really good record in introducing young players at the right pace so that when they do start getting regular games they're ready for it. I worry that we might screw things up if we start rushing them into the team.

Have a slot at Moyes if you're in possession of all the facts but if you're not its a bit vapid. Sure he's not leaving the lad out for the sake of it, he simply thinks others offer a better chance of doing something in the game at that moment in time.

I'm not having a pop at him. He's doing well recently and fair do's to him. Just sometimes look at the bench and it's like playing Guess Who, you always end up with the same players.
