Lundstram too. Massive Raps on Ledson coming through playing u21 games at 16, england youth captain etc.
Green is coming along too, apparently just needs to "make a position his own". Green is possibly the "pienaar or arteta" creative type as a number ten or playmaker. Kennedy's the out and out winger and We could possibly see Duffy coming back.

So were looking at the following havong game time next season?;

Lundstram
Grant
Browning
Ledson
Kennedy
Green

I for one would be delighted but cant see so many of them playing for us without even having a loan deal. Would be excellent for us to drop a few players into competitive action though.

Lescott coming back is an interesting idea. My concern with him or any of the other ideas is how little pace we have on defense.

Distin is still one of the fastest players on the team and when he is out, our high defensive line gets exposed on counterattacks. Look at the liverpool game for many examples. Painful watching their players run with the ball from midfield and still be faster than our CB's who could straight line sprint and use an angle.

Jags has earned his spot, but he lacks sprinting speed, so ideally we are pairing him with someone who can cover with pace. Alacaraz and Lescott don't fit that bill. I don't know what kind of speed Duffy or Stones have.

Coleman has the pace, but is often too far up field. Baines is often upfield too, but he isn't likely to run anyone down either.

Young partner for stones is crucial here which is why it would be good to get them in now and build up an understanding.

I mentioned in the other transfer thread, i'd like to see us bring Mulumbu in, would add significantly to the midfield options and should be affordable even after we bring a striker (Lukaku?) in. Another Martinez loan on top of that, and with the returning injured players, we'd be looking at a very strong squad.

Sign Lukaku.....spend whatever is left over on a partner for Stones.....loan two centre mids with buyout clauses....

Other than Lukaku the main man I want to see us bring in is Will Hughes from Derby. I think he is exactly what we need, a young left footed player who could play alongside McCarthy in games where we need more attacking threat from those positions. He is used to playing a lot of games so would be fine playing regularly when needed both in Europe and the league. It would allow Barry to be rested and be fully fit for all the big games. On top of that with the right guidance there is no doubt in my mind he will be an England International. i have seen him play a lot of times now and he is pure quality on the ball. Going into next year with Gibson Barry McCarthy Hughes, would give us a lot of different options as well as four players who we could start in a league match. Its that sort of depth and upside we need in the squad.

Think liverpool have first option on derby players...otherwise on paper would be perfect signing for us.

Jack Colback seems to be on the radar
Sam Bryam for right back cover

No doubt there will be some players from the World Cup to get our juices flowing plus hordes of unknown Spaniards on loan

For me in a perfect summer.
A right back cover for Seamus Coleman. No idea as to who.
Left footed centre back/left back. Bruno Martins Indi/Lescott a few options. Would prefer BMI because he's a lot younger.
Not a position but just Dusan Tadic. Can play on both wings or as an cam.
Either Traore on another season long loan with option to buy or Lukaku on a perm.
Another back up striker, think that will be Batshuayi.

...monies will have to go on the most priority areas. The likes of Lescott wont come cheap, so factoring in age and cost you would have to think we'd get more vfm elsewhere. Stones is clearly an option, and the lad on loan at Wigan is a very highly thought of CB. If we have a pot of dosh the majority will have to go on a striker.

Green and Ledson are still developing, havent quite reached first team levels yet. Could possibly see green making the bench at the end of next season if he makes a position his own and develops the defensive contributions of whatever role he will play. Lundstrams performing well on loan at the championship level, likewise Browning. Havent heard as much about Kennedy. Grant played preseason and looked to be ahead of where lundstram was but that injury stunted his season a bit. He'll almost definately go out on loan unless Martinez sees him as immediately able to contribute.

On lukaku and any left over should be used to sign top young potential

From what Martinez has said regarding the loan system I'd expect us to have at least 2 or 3 loan players to bulk out the squad and one like Lukaku has been be the main man. This gives the opportunity to loan out some of our youngsters to get the necessary experience. I'd assume Martinezs plan is to try and bring one or two younger players into the squad each year, utilising the loan system allows us to do this. Centre mid and centre forward ate our most pressing need although I think Barkley has the all round game to maybe drop back alongside McCarthy and allow Mirralles to play the number 10 role.
