Honestly we didn't play that poorly. Spurs scored and obviously got confident at that point, but if that goal isn't scored I doubt that surge happens. That goal was very preventable. Gana did a really poor job of closing down Kane and allowed him to get a shot that he shouldn't have had the opportunity to take. It wasn't necessarily a howler from Robles, but he really should have saved it. I still think Barry needs to come off so we can put more pressure on Spurs.

Spurs were creating nothing then a goal from nowhere and we could have collapsed.
Instead we weathered the storm and are still in it. Over to u RK.
Bad goal keeping from Robles . His reaction is to late. Doesnt have the legs to be a top keeper.

What does it come down to though? Seems we've had the same mentality away to top teams since the day of Joe Royle. Management or just ingrained in the club's mentality?

A bit of both I think. Though more the latter. Our away record in general is poor enough, at grounds like this it has gone beyond embarrassing. We either take a beating or manage to hang on for a draw, which is then blown up out of all proportion.
In my view we have little to lose here today, so why not have the courage to show up mentally and physically and make a game of it?
What I'm seeing is the players thinking they are not good enough as a group. Same attitude with starting Barry.
Spurs are an excellent side yes and superior in almost every way but I don't accept that we go there and offer practically nothing offensively. They are very good, but we are not as poor as that half.

looks like we are doing piss poor judging by comments on here but we are just 1-0 down, make a couple of changes and we can still get something from this. Spurs are formidable at home hence why Koeman has probably set up. Time to have a good go 2nd half now COYB!!

Barry off for McCarthy, then after 60 get Mirallas or Lookman for Davies, we're still in this at least, we tried to pack the midfield but we could have 10 GB'S out there and they wouldn't get anywhere near Denbele and Ali.

Lukaku having one of those sulk days he has when opposition defenders won't let him have it his way, frustrating.

Sums it up

Knife to a gunfight playing Barry - no outlet in 7 minutes we could have been 3-0'down - 1-0 is a blessing will RK change players?
Barry has to come off he getting in the way- no width still in it if changes are made !

Too often balls up to Rom have been misjudged. He hasn't had much chance to gather and turn. Vertonghen is a good tackler too.

But we've done great to get to this stage only a goal down. Tottenham are not invincible in defence by any means. I'd get Lookman or Mirallas on second half. Davies to go off.
