Two of our best results this season, away at Forest and Villa, came when we were down to the bare bones of the squad with 12 or 13 fully fit senior players. Both wins well deserved with a clean sheet. Moyes could have stuck with those line ups which I think were pretty similar for a run of games and we might have put a run of wins together, but he couldn`t wait to put Keane back in the side after he missed Forest, and he got a red card against Wolves at home, 2 points thrown away, which made him miss the Villa win. Of course he came back in after his suspension where Moyes should have at least kept JOB and Tarks in the middle, but he had to put his man back in and push JOB back out wide.Ending the season 7 without a victory — a fifth of the season just thrown away when we were in our most promising position and with just 2 injuries in the entire squad and fully rested due to no Europe, no domestic cups, etc.
Really is disgraceful stuff by all concerned, from the board not wanting to grasp the opportunity in January to the manager refusing to drop certain players, right through to the players themselves and a clear lack of desire and effort. Awful.
A terrible end to the season and everybody knows that we end with a meek defeat, ending no higher than we did last season after spending £100 million and keeping almost all of it on the bench the entire season.
