Spurs is a "statement" game

I think the Derby was probably a bit of a reality check for us, getting carried away with ourselves but the injuries haven't helped when all your creative players are out it stifles you. A win against Spuds will elevate the mood again I reckon.

I'm pretty confident. Sherwood is too old fashion from tactical point of view to beat Martinez. We'll beat them.

I really believe we've lost a little of that lovin' feeling (apologies to the Righteous Bros). Point record is still good, we're still right there, but the loss to them, and some of the results since Xmas have taken away a bit of the swagger I think.

So far we've done well against Chelsea, Man U, and Arsenal.

Not so good against Man City and the reds.

Points are points. 3 against Spurs is the same as 3 against Villa. But from a mentality standpoint, I really believe going in and showing the world and ourselves that we are still to be reckoned with away from home is very important.

3 points here gives a MASSIVE boost that 3 points over Swansea away wouldn't.

I can see this--there is a lot left in the league. For all that City have shown in their capacity to win with dominant style, their early stretch of away losses and their loss to Chelsea will have them wondering if they can really put it together and win the league. On paper it's easy enough to say they're the best, but are they willing to prove they're the best? Arsenal looked imperious for a while, but who still believes they're the team to beat? With their brutal schedule coming up, any lack of confidence or fitness can put them in a disappointing spiral. Tottenham... well I don't know what to say here expect that I think the Tim Sherwood implosion is like the fuse on those cheap fireworks your dad bought because he didn't want to shell out for the more expensive stuff. It will blow, but which game?

So every game is a chance to "make a statement" or "turn the corner" or similar, and while individual games are relatively meaningless (noise, in a data sense), any run of games can be enough to define the character of the team and help "determine" where they will finish in the league.

So I'm with you. Let's see what RM's boys come out and do Sunday. Come on you Blues!

Maybe its just me, but i'd much prefer us hunting down a position in the league than being in pole position trying to hold off challengers. It suits Everton to be covert and creeping up on people. The RS had a huge four point advantage halved in less than a week, we draw or win on the weekend and i suspect their advantage gets halved again or we potentially overtake them and i seriously doubt they can fend us off for 13 games. We just have to sustain the challenge with a squad that isnt desimated by injury.

Goals in the final 10 minutes like?

Climb the table in the final ten games also?

I've said this before but I think Liverpool really lack depth in the attacking midfield areas. They've obviously got two very good strikers to score the goals but there's only really Coutinho and Sterling who can provide any width. Their full backs are by in large terrible discounting Johnson, also. We've got much more depth in the attacking midfield positions and much better full backs, they just have a bit more depth in defence and in central midfield, not quality.

We have an awful record at WHL - I would take a draw now

It's not that bad, in recent years. Better than our record at some grounds.

Last 8 there - Won 3, Lost 3, Drawn 2

06/07 Won 2-0
07/08 Won 3-1
08/09 Won 1-0
09/10 Lost 0-2 (League Cup after playing 2 days earlier)
09/10 Lost 1-2
10/11 Drew 1-1
11/12 Lost 0-2
12/13 Drew 2-2

I expect we can climb the table yeah. There will be a lot of pressure on Liverpool going in to the last ten games to get Champions League. They haven't been there for a while and the media has had them as favourites to finish fourth for a while. It will be a difficult job to finish and we've got to make of harder for them by snapping at their heels every game.

I believe we have a better team than Spurs. Not necessarily saying the better players, but in teamspirit I rate us a bit higher as them. Personally I'm really confident we can do them at WHL.

For me it's both just off the top of my head;
Howard= Lloris, Jags-Distin > Dawson-Chiriches, Baines-Coleman > Rose-Walker, Mirallas-Barkley-Pienaar> Eriksen-Lennon-Chadli, Barry-McCarthy> Paulinho-Dembele

On form yes, but i only every seem to watch half an Everton team playing well at one time.

Would like to see the old false number 9 against Spurs.

Kev, Pienaar, Barkley, McGeady all rotating.

Naismith and Del as impact subs.

I think if we go there trying to play 'our formation' without a proper number 9 then we will get beat.

Fluid system with those interchanging in front of McCarthy and Barry will be too much for spurs IMO

I stand corrected, I always thought we had a horrible record there but that's not that bad! Go for it Everton - 3 points or bust!
