Spurs is a "statement" game

nope, not getting my hopes up again after that debacle of the derby. nooooope.

An Evertonians confidence is an incredibly fragile thing.
We got a hiding from our biggest bogey side with barely half a team of injuries, Painful? yes of course but we have to let it go.
Our injured players are coming back in drips and drabs this week and as for our new players: Macgeady will get fitter and we have the big fella to look forward to.
There is no doubt in my mind that the Everton swagger will return....And just when we need it.

When was the last make or break league game we won? Every huge game in the last few years we've come out second best. Let's hope that changes.

Literally "Make or break"? Beating Man U to get 4th. Wimbledon to stay up.

But I knpw what you are getting at.

I think we've went from fluent football full of confidence to grinding out results that we perhaps didn't as deserve as much as we did earlier in the season.

Two reasons for that really - lots of injuries is the main one, but Lukaku turning from absolutely brilliant to ultra gash in the space of a month was another key factor.

Since just before the Sland game, we've effectively been playing with 10 men, he's been that bad, but we've ground out results. The worry is that when we come up against decent opposition like Spurs now, we'll capitulate like we did against Liverpool.

We no longer have a flag tho, the 3 teams at the top have all gone.
We do have a flag, its a bloody good flag, its just hidden behind a couple of bigger flags at this time.
The top 3 have nowhere near gone, yet. Arsenal, at the top of the table are the most falliable. Its all very much still to play for.

Nar, those 3 at the top wont be caught, we are in a 4 way for 4th with Spurs(crap manager, decent squad), United(crap manager, terrible squad), RS(crap manager, outstanding strikers), the game the other day certainly added the advantage to the vermin, but we are defo still in the mix for 4th.

You mean apart from the whole 3 points lost and the chance to plant a flag.

That's what a freak result is. 3 points lost, nothing more, nothing less.

The 'chance to plant a flag' is overrated, given that every team in this league seems to lose a game just when they need to win to kick on. Even City did it the other night vs Chelsea.

Maybe its just me, but i'd much prefer us hunting down a position in the league than being in pole position trying to hold off challengers. It suits Everton to be covert and creeping up on people. The RS had a huge four point advantage halved in less than a week, we draw or win on the weekend and i suspect their advantage gets halved again or we potentially overtake them and i seriously doubt they can fend us off for 13 games. We just have to sustain the challenge with a squad that isnt desimated by injury.
