Time for a personal story on this.

In October 2007 I was on my way to school with one of my long term mate, we went down the local shop to get some snacks for school breaktime. In our hurry to get back we crossed a road about 1/4 mile from the school. Some 18 year old in his car smashed into my friend killing him dead there. The driver was going 65 on a 30 street, the next 6 months was grieving and asking the local council for a speed camera to be put down the road he was killed on. We finally got it.

Now the amazing government we have in charge wants to cut funding so much so we have no speed cameras.

I feel sick.

******* Tories.

I lost my mate when he was 21. he was speeding, lost control flipped the car an went through the window. Dead instantly. So i know what you went through. It devastated my life for a while.

BB that comment was well out of fucking order. You havnt got a clue you silly little man. if i ever cross you. i'll show you what i mean!!!

Fucking bellend

Sorry to hear your loss mate, I really am.

I'm still undecided about the Cameras though. We live in the state with the most speed cameras world wide, and they just approved 170 more mobile speed cameras.

Youve seen the worst of what a kid can do behind the wheel but a Camera wont stop those random freak occurrences. Cameras are basically revenue raisers. People shouldn't speed, of course but when has that ever stopped them? People get past the camera and its normal service resumed. Ive lost count of the times Ive been driving through the tunnels on the way to work and people have zoomed past me in places where they say cameras are. Its annoying as hell. They make a car that goes 200 km/h and then decide you can only drive a quarter of that speed. We have loads of 40 zones around schools and 50 zones for residential and 60/70/80 zones everywhere else and while most of them are sound, its ridiculous trying to keep up with constant changes in road speed. One missed sign and theres a camera there, you could lose your license.

Be good if we didn't have to have cars at all really. Which is why we need new broadband infrastructure so we can just work from home and catch the train wherever else we need to go. Also saving carbon emissions and all that. A lot of people couldnt work from home but a lot could and less cars equals less traffic and less accidents.

Sorry for your loss mate, gutted.... :(

Nearly lost my dad in a car accident - some idiot cut in front of him and for him to avoid a chain crash or the likes meant that he had to swerve to the side of the road, but the wet road made the car go out of control and he smashed it front-faced in a big tree; the car literally had no front hood and it's a miracle how he got out of it without anything broken, but with a concussion and some other head trauma things and a lot of bruises (broke the front windshield with his head) and was in a hospital for some days, but nonetheless - my mother storming in the room and telling me my dad's unconscious in the hospital after a car accident.... i blocked for a few minutes, you know... losing a parent when you're not even of 'mature age' (about 14 at that time), plus he's the guy that thought me everything, especially about football (he's one of us, too)... If the worst happened to him that day, or god forbid any other day to any other close person of mine, i'll be... i don't know, don't even want to think about it, going back to those memories makes me really sad.

Again, sorry for your loss, Number25.
