Speed Cameras Part 3 - Something you may have seen...

This sums up perfectly how they take the p*ss with set up of the cameras.

That 30 sign is actually about 95% larger than they usually are.

Normally goes something like this -

"40 zone - 40 zone - Weeeeee this is fun. (30 zone) OMG what was that little red circle ? FLASH. What? Nooooo! FFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUU!"

That inevitably leads to fire.

Haha, my mate Martyn got caught doing something like that. Was on his last 3 points so thought "**** it" and was in the process of smashing the thing when a panda car pulled up. **** like that just happens to him. Unluckiest bloke I've ever known.

apparently the favoured method of destruction is an old tyre slung over the top of the camera, a little petrol in the bottom of the tyre, set alight and get the marshmallows out.

not that I condone any behaviour like this. They're there to save lives.

I don't think they are even speed cameras mate. You don't get them on motorways unless there are road works which means you might get average speed cameras, which are on tall yellow poles. Reason you don't get flash cameras on motorways is because the authorities don't want everyone going at bang on 70mph. Motorway would be far too slow.

They are defo speed cameras mate. There's one of these on the other side of the overhead speed catcher beam thingy.

They are on most of the north west part of the M25, M4, and I've also seen them up the M6 as far and possibly past Birmingham.

Those yellow average speed checks are annoying but normally they're when there's road works (not that they ever look busy), unlike the ones as detailed, which are permanent, digital, and are not yellow.

Eurgh minging!

There's alot of American airbases near me. They drive their american cars. A question to our American Toffee's.

Genuine question: Do you think 70mph is fast?, Do you still have a 55mph limit in the Land of the Free? and would you be shocked if you were on a UK motorway doing 70mph and everyone else was whizzing by at 80-90mph.
NB: (the average is probably 80mph) speed limit would be better at 85mph over here.
