I'm just thinking about the potential of mining asteroids and in situ resource utilisation :)

Im just thinking it would have been good if they fitted the box thing with thrusters or something and tried to steer the thing.

Hang on, it must have a engine ffs! Or did it just float to it?

Nah, must have jets or something. Should try them I reckon.

One of mankind's greatest achievements?

Was discussing that earlier. I reckon it tops the moon landings in terms of technology/engineering/brainwork, but obviously not in the resonance/symbolism stakes.

Its difficult to think of something as impressive really. Perhaps the Voyager missions in their complexity, and success, cos they are still travelling outside of the solar system, and could still transmit if/when they get to something worth taking a photo of.

But landing a fridge on a titchy lump of rock, 10 years away, using technology that is 10 years old, takes some doing. Like a laptop that is 10 years old probably wouldnt even work today. It certainly wouldnt be able to hook up to a modern wifi connection.
