Southall Interview in The Guardian

He would be referred to as a negative WUM if he posted his opinions on here. He's wrong about Moyes style of football though, it wasn't boring at all, and if it was then I dread to think how people would describe the football on show this season.

Couldn't find the save but found this ! :

hahaha! Just been laughing at that at work. Thats pretty much the most blatant red card I've ever seen. Francis could have been sent off for either of the lunges on Southall or the headbutt (triple red) and he's still standing there arguing with the referee about it, then looks like he can't believe he's been sent off :)

we played some great stuff at times under moyes, we played some shocking stuff too, the biggest criticism of moyes is we played the negative stuff at key periods, which is a real shame as the guy could build a squad

How times have changed. 2 lunges at the keeper and then a headbutt on another player would of triggered the UK threat level to 'critical' if it happened in this generation. Sure a couple of players rushed in after the initial lunge but there seemed to be no surrounding of the ref, pushing and shoving, arguing, nothing.

Just got on with it back then.

For me, Nev is the greatest keeper of my lifetime (I'm 47) and possibly ever.

The moment he pulled the ball, one handed, out of the air late on in the 95 cup final will live with me forever. Nev looked as calm as they come, whereas I was bricking it at the time!
