Both great. I think I probably prefer the cover, to be honest. Perhaps it's because I was familiar with that before Stevie Knicks' original, but I prefer the even more melancholy tone of the Pumpkins' version.
 

ooh. The only decently arranged cover of this track. It's an absolute arse to try and even emulate ELO. Strip it down, drop half the vocals. Lovely.

...and I'm not even going to sully my Youtube history by looking for the original of this. The cover however, excellent. Saw them do this (well him actually) suppoting Ben Folds a few years back. Shows what can be done with a good tune in my opinion.
