Some of these young lads

Bruce Wayne

Player Valuation: £100m
I've heard of the likes of Agard and Baxter but some of those playing tonight are completely new to me. Anyone know what they're like? Particularly interested in the left back as I assumed Garbutt would be next in line but this kid seems ahead of him.

I think I remember reading that when playing for England U-17s Garbutt gets pushed up to left wing to accommodate Bidwell at left back. I think Bidwell is at least as highly rated as Garbutt, he's the one I'm most looking forward to seeing tonight.

Garbutt is on the bench, assume he'll get a run out.

No it will be nice for the young lads, first team game, no pressure, the crowd will hopefully support everything they do. If they get on their backs they need a slap.

Agard seems the exact type of player coming through alot of youth teams. Their athleticism is viewed as more important then their footballing ability. However, what he lacks on the ball, he makes up for it with his hard work and his pace will always cause problems for me. He's not fantastic on the ball, put it that way and his finishing is a little questionable but he'll always be a threat with his pace. I'm not writing the lad off by any means mind.

Bidwell and Ross Barkley are viewed as 2 youngsters who will make it i believe. I think Barkley was in line for being called up too (See Moyes' comments in the Echo about him putting players even younger then most in the squad) but it didn't happen in the end. Never really watched Bidwell much but i hear he's a good prospect.

I've seen Forshaw play a couple of times. Played on the left wing both times, seems like he is abit of a dead ball specialist. Can't say alot more as he was quiet in both games.

Well I read in The Times in the summer an article about upcoming young players in the Premier league. Jose Baxter was there as was Bidwell and Barclay. By all accounts leaving the same level of impression that Rodwell did.

But Bidwell, 16? Must be good enough for Moyes to play him tonight.

Kieran Agard's already 20 so he's at an age where he really needs to start proving he's good enough. Even Anichebe, a late developer, came through at 18/19.

I've seen him two or three times and he looks quick and has alot of energy, similar and style to Andy Johnson.

Agard was being let go but then he bucked up his ideas and got a new contract.

Hope Akpan was also told to buck his ideas up if he wanted to stay at Everton in the summer.

The same could be said of Victor Anichebe, who surprised everyone and developed very quickly over a short period of time. He was on the verge of being let go.

But Kieran Agard is twenty, two to three years older than Victor Anichebe in a similar situation. If what you say is true.
