So much for the Echo being in the clubs pocket

Robert Ear'ls 270 million wouldn't help much, and Green supports Tottenham - as does Earl - but I've been hoping for a long time that Lord Grantchester would come on board. I think there's an internal political issue that's stopping him, from memory, and I know that his mother, John Moores sister, I think, wouldn't allow him to support Everton financially.

She must be a very old woman, if she's alive, which I doubt, but I've always believed that Grantchester was a more than passive Evertonian. Where are you, Lord Grantchester? We need you.
I used to know a descendant of sister Moores and can confirm this is pretty much spot on. She isn't / wasn't prepared to see money go into the club.

In other news, bears defecate in the woods and Maggie Thatcher did actually **** the miners.

This isn't news, we've known it for years. If the chief sports writer of the Liverpool Echo didn't then he needs to find a new job.

....I got a bit excited when I saw the headlines, writer and date but its a bit of a nothing really. The wealth of board members is one thing, but willingness to put their hands in their pocket is another. The bottom line is investment and I can't see anybody willing to 'invest' without control so it wont happen until Bill moves over.

Basically he's saying there's no money for Moyes or any other manager who might come in, and that others are to blame for that more than Kenwright.

A couple of things.

1 Grantchester will not entertain Billy Liar.

2 For the Echo (and Post) writing articles in which they quote anyone from EFC means that the club are 'getting ' what they want out of them. The minute they dont then they will get Tyrells size 10s aimed at their hoop.

I think our future mod overlord Carlos put it best when he asked if anyone has any pets and what everyone's having for tea.

I think that's what Green has been doing, Essex Blue, but purely in his capacity as Bill's mate. He is, as I said, a Spurs supporter.

No, we're not after Earl's whole fortune, but how much of his 270 million would he be prepared to make available to us?

NONE. NONE OF THEM ARE. THATS WHY WE WENT 3 YEARS NOT BUYING PLAYERS AND SELLING THEM, HAVE THE SMALLEST SQUAD AND CRY POVERTY EVERY DAY FOR A DECADE!!!!

Not aimed at you specifically Jeff, just I don't see why people think the board are willing to put a pound in. The Chief exec admitted as much more than once.

They won't a payday for their shares too.

Zero in. Profit out.

The fact that we have had to get bridging loans every Season costing us millions in interest speaks volumes really.

Potentially from a company owned by a shareholder. That's why the 'I don't take a wage' stuff means nothing. Loads of ways to make money out of football.
