TX Bill

Player Valuation: £80m
...and I see this guy who looks real familiar. He's got a few English newspapers in his hand so I walk up to him and say:

"Excuse me but you're the spitting image of Brad Friedel."

He says "Well that's because I am Brad Friedel."

We ended up talking for about five minutes about Villa, Everton, the FA Cup

(He says, "You want a score?" "NO NO NO, I'm taping it and will watch it when I get home.")

He felt that Everton did so well because players consistently stepped up as others went down injured.

I told him that it must be nice having an owner like Lerner that will spend if needed.

All in all a real nice guy and willing to talk for awhile.

He's actually right around my height. I'd say about 6'2 as I'm 6'1.

He was also wearing a hat.

Good story Bill (y) - so you watched a recording of the match without knowing the score? You must have gone mental in the 1st minute?

footballers in airports!!

i saw phil neville at manchester airport (who eventually ended up on my flight to new york) in the summer of 2000. just after he conceeded that last minute penalty in the euro's.

also i was in amsterdam international and i was behind ole gunner solskjaer in the check in line to manchester. he was a lot taller in person and his wife was amazing.

I saw David Platt in Manchester Airport before I flew out to watch us play Nuremberg, should have asked him for a photo because when I was a kid I thought he was great

I've missed the boat with those questions so I'll answer them too (y)

I've seen Stubbs at John Lennon before
Yes please
Greggs by a country mile

empanadillas are the pastie of the day today

Going off topic ever so slightly, I was on a flight with Craig Cash (Dave off The Royle Family) once & saw Kev The Rat in the services on the way to an away at the beginning of the season, I also saw David Unsworth at services on the way home from the semi

I met Pat Nevin at Gatwick once. Have to say he was a nice guy, even though he was in a rush he signed an autograph.
Also met Tony Cottee and John Moncur at Heathrow. Cottee is the nicest player i have ever met. Talked and talked about how much he loved it at Everton, and how great the supporters are.
