Howard Kendall ( player ) manager at Blackburn is the obvious example. Learnt his trade, came home and, eventually, came good.

Unsworth is no Kendall like, but he's no mug. The reason Ferguson will never ( opinion here ) be Everton manager is because he loves the club too much to leave and test himself elsewhere in management. Unsworth's way smarter than Dunc, so I'm pretty sure, sooner or later, he'll look for a more responsible position.

I think you're spot on.

Love Rhino but it has to be a no from me. Nobody can fault his passion and love for Everton but its not enough and he is not yet ready and is too naive and inexperienced to lead the first team. Granted that he had a tough run of games but the performances haven't been anywhere near good enough.

4 games, 1 win, 3 losses, 9 goals conceded, 4 scored, out of the Europa League, out of the league cup.

Yes it was great to get a win today but lets face it, we are talking about Watford at home and we still had a baffling team selection with no width and went 2 goals behind and needed Niasse to spark the rest of them into life with his hard work and goal poaching.

Needs to get an experienced quality Manager in asap to give him time to settle and get us moving forward straight after the break.

Anyone who saw Jagielka’s interview on Match of the Day should know why “Unsy” as he referred to him shouldn’t get the job right now. This isn’t the time for pals, it’s the time for an experienced manager. He gambled with the subs today and things worked but we’re basically reliant on a player nobody wanted (don’t buy the revisionism on Niasse) and Watford totally capitulated today.

Let him go elsewhere, most suitably a championship club and earn first team managerial experience there. If he’s to be our manager one day it doesn’t have to be right now.

No . I love the guy but he's not ready yet great comeback today apart. He's done his best trying to get some balance and a tune out of the players. Some good subs today. But he's niave with his tactics.

Yes and no I think it gives the club more time no to rush into an immediate knee jerk reaction appointment!
2 Prem games is not enough time and we looked good when wingers came on!

Listening to Jagielka and Baines after the game, it sounds like the squad is behind Unsworth, but also that they doubt he’ll get the job.

I’d give him longer personally. I don’t think the alternatives look great.

No he’s poop
Not got a clue
But the blues love him cos he’s one of us blah blah blah
People forget that he was an AWFUL footballer and a loser like must ex blues
Ship him and the rest of them out and bring some winners in

Dunno he seems to be holding the players to account. Not afraid to sub Rooney also did you look and see where Scheinderlien and Klassen were playing today?

Euros were always a lost cause when he came in, maybe if Niasse was on the roster we'd have a chance to slip through w/ luck. Unsworth probably isnt a long term soln (though in this league no one is a long term solution, we've been an exception). However if he's not going to get to say around christmas, we shouldn't have even bothered making him caretaker manager.

Winners like Koeman? Or Giggs?

I like to see Unsworth given more time. Particularly when Ross Barkley is back playing again and with most of our team consisting of former U23s. Will be in a position of strength once the youngsters mature come next season.

Nothing but respect for Unsy, but this is too much too soon.
There's some serious fire-fighting to be done here and that will require an experienced head.

Reckon he'll take the helm one day tho!
