Interesting, but not entirely sure it's useful. Because football is a zero-sum game, there is a high marginal cost/diminishing returns for teams at the higher end of the table. You should expect teams further up the league tables to be lower in these charts.

Or, in simpler terms: Schneiderlin (£24M) and Lookman (£10M) are great, but to improve Everton need to be buying more talented, and more costly, players like Van Djik (£40M), Perisic (£35M), or Lacazette (£55M). It's illogical to assume that performance in the KPMG accounting table and performance in the Premier League table are all correlated.

*I just threw out three names I know, with guesses at values. If any of these players in the future transfer to EFC at values near these listed, I will claim full responsibility. And if not, eat it.
