Spot on Faddy's, do you aim the fan at your face mate, it can help you take in more air, I do that now rather then suffer the machine(y)

Atimes yes but mostly no. The reason being that when that air from the fan which is rather cold hits you on your head than there's every chance that your body that just took a hot shower gets caught by the cold air and you can catch up a flu then. I'm no doctor ofcourse but to get some sleep I've done such experiments and got caught once by the cold. Other than that it always works.

I don't think many houses in England have fans. My aunt didn't have one I remember

Get a humidifier for your bedroom.....your house may be full of dry air which makes it uncomfortable to breath. Could help......

The mind is as an important a muscle as the other muscles in the body. Does your job challenge you? Do you get enough proper exercise? Are you stressed and do not know why? Has their been a significant change around you (Family) that you are struggling to get past/over? Diet, drugs, money, relationship, that is just four of the possibilities.
Approaching certain milestones (40 years old), can lead to anxiety, taking on new responsibilities (especially in this world of negative equity) can lead to problems with not being able to switch off and relax.

Personally, I like going to the boxing club and training till I am spent. Obviously recovery days mean I cannot do that so I have long baths letting the heat get into my joints and the steam into my lungs. Simple pleasures ;)

Thanks for replying. I'm going to ring my GP in a minute and make an appointment. With a bit of luck I may get a cancellation for today but more likely Monday. I'm sure raised anxiety levels is the main problem but will see what he thinks and let you know. Thanks again.

Hope all goes well mate. You are best seeing the Doc just to be on the safe side. Best wishes mate. (y)

Funny you bring this up.

I wake every morning a bit tired even though I get 7 to 8 every night.

I went to have a sleep study done this past Thursday night. They hooked up all sorts of wires and monitored my sleep, breathing, brainwaves, etc...

The doc told me today that I have mild sleep apnea for which there are several options.

I'll keep you posted.

I'll have to admit since I've slept on a memory foam mattress I have had the best sleeping experience of my life. I don't toss & turn at all and seem so much more refreshed when I awake in the morning. It may not solve all the wrongs of insomnia but it may be one component of it. Good luck.

I've just been doing a boring College assignment for tomorrow for the last two hours, finally out of the way, they had better damn well show some interest in it later today.

Some nights only get two or three hours sleep, I'll be having eyes like Harry Redknapp if this goes on much longer, I could well be a case for Insomnia, it's 2.30 nearly and I'm still fully awake, but will be getting my sub-normal head down before not too much longer.

Only stopped by for a quick peek in here.

and if not mentioned yet, turn off your computer at least 1 hour or so before sleep as the light from your computer can also mess with you.

Reading a book or any other calming activity along with warm milk to wind you down.

I know I let myself get bothered by things I have to remember which used to keep me up. I try to have a notebook and write all things I need to do down so I can clear them out of my head and relax.
