I was half thinking with them making them PPV that any game that was due to be a 3pm kick off on saturday, that they would just leave it as that KO if not on the actual sky/BT chs, not still change them all over the place

I'd be gobsmacked if that was a subscription service where you had your choice of any game that weekend for £15, with playback features to catch up on the rest.

I'd understand it, but still be gobsmacked at it at £15 a week.

At £10 a month, it'd feel OK value.

At £15 a game, it's... it's so tone deaf that it actually feels like it's a joke. An actual joke that's not real.

The issue is a lot of these big companies like Sky etc. have board rooms filled with out of touch old men who have likely very little concept of what fans actually want.

Look at the whole Napster and music debacle, which really kickstarted modern media piracy.
They spent the first few years just trying to sue everyone, because the old fools involved were so detached from modern culture that they genuinely thought that physical media would be around forever.
They took too long, and by the time Spotify/Netflix and other feasible media streaming platforms came around, the industry was already on its knees and the platforms were able to 'name their price' Now you have the current situation where artists are earning a pittance compared to what the platforms are raking in.

It's a similar situation here. Time has moved on from the days of paying ludicrous amounts of money for a sports channel that dictates what shows are on.
Most countries and sports are moving onto the Netflix model allowing the consumer to choose what they want to watch. The longer they hold onto their outdated model with extortionate prices the more people they will push towards piracy.

As with music and movies/tv, I'd happily pay a single monthly fee for the convenience of a football streaming service over wrestling with dodgy streams and what not.

The sooner they realize this, the better.

that’s the problem though, there is no decent IPTV. A few years ago I’d agree with you but nowadays you’ll be extremely fortunate to find an IPTV that doesn’t freeze, cut off or black out every 30 seconds.

I am more than happy with my IPTVS lol [i have 3/4 as some have different chs the others dont etc], and none are as above, never stops-so many things work towards how good yours is - speed etc just one of many things that can make you have a bad one-I just hope this today does not make them easier to be caught lol as many will turn to IPTV that have not had before

Don’t get the crying about this tbh. I also think the ire is being wrongly directed.

Sky, BT and Amazon had a contract that allows them to broadcast a set number of games, they’ve been allowed by the PL to extend that to all matches during the pandemic. The PL have decided that the selected broadcast games for October will be screened as normal and the remaining 11 3 pm Saturday games can be made available but as PPV.

If you’re a pass holder you’ll get your seat money refunded anyway, so is being asked to pay for unselected broadcast games that outrageous? Not for me it isn’t.

There’s no Everton fixtures on the list btw.

Streaming will do for me thanks. Just as if i am going to give these crooks £15 to watch 1 match when i am already paying for both of the sports channels monthly and have done for years. I wouldn't mind, if they had made it a reasonable cost instead of disgracefully trying to extort people i might have actually been tempted now and again but they can stick their fingers up their hoops and sit on their elbows.

Never had a problem streaming and so streaming will do me just fine.

I’ve cancelled Sky Sports and Movies.

When I want to watch something I buy a Now Tv pass and use my Tesco club card points, so it dosent actually cost me anything.

£15 a game is ludicrous, if it was a fiver then loads would pay that.
