Six Centre Backs

whilst I agree we have two many, mori has been injured for about 6 years so doesn't really count, Williams is absolutely diabolical, jagielka was finished 3 years ago, keane has been terrible so far ( was quality last night so hopefully can put a run together ) and none of these are left sided centre backs, add that to we have a donkey right back playing left back, that's 4 right footed/sided defedners playing

mangala is tall quicky and experienced so im happy with it

Depends how you look at it

We do have left backs, baines, garbutt and could be signing Mangala who played left back for porto and city

We have Bolasie, walcott, vlasic, dominic and sig whos played on the left side all season

With regards to centre mids we have garna, morgan, davies, baningime and rooney

We have a lot of centre backs, and as you mentioned they all dont look great, i think mangala and keane could really work if keane goes back to his old self, like he did tonight.

i dont get Tosun being on the bench though, not at all
Have I missed something when I was asleep. The the Klaassen to Napoli deal go through?

Constant whinge with you OP lad. Nothing but moaning and cryarsing. I wonder why you bother. Six centre backs perhaps, two of those most definitely on their last legs, another one who can barely walk on the ones he's got. Mangala offers us another option which is good for the team. He's not as bad as folk have made out either.

How on earth has Jagielka lasted this long?

This is a player that should have been punted AT LEAST three seasons back.

Before getting Mangala in Jagielka for one should have been loaned out or given away first. WTF is going on at this club? It's just bizarre.

I’d argue tosun was on the bench because he is unproven in the PL and needs time to adapt. At the same time we need goals and only have one actual striker that has shown he can score, so he started. Give it time and tosun will gets games and prove himself. Will most likely start against arsenal as it will be a different game plan.

Mangala is a left footed defender who has played at the highest level and has played 15 times this season for the best team by far in the PL. I see him playing as LB until the end of the season tbh, with hopefully Holgate and Keane in the centre (if Keane performs like yesterday more regularly). You also include Mori who won’t play a game this season. So we only have 5. (You then don’t include mccarthy as a cm because I assume he is injured. No consistency)

I can’t see us playing two ‘out and out’ wingers at the same time this season. Walcott will start every game and Siggy will start on the other side. Lots of teams only play with one actual winger, as it helps more defensively. So only having Walcott, Bolasie and Vlasic isn’t a big deal.

CM wise, we have schneiderlin, Gana, davies, Beni, klaasen. (I won’t include mccarthy). But include rooney as well. As yesterday was Gana, davies and Rooney and it worked well. We are covered.

Stop your whinging and give the new lads a chance to prove themselves following the transfer window. It may end up we now actually have a balanced team.

Hopefully Moyes comes in for him in the summer even for a peanut fee.

Keane and Mangala. Keep them in the line-up when we play a back 4. No need to rotate as long as we are winning at home drawing away.

Keane was very worrying again last night complete lack of aggression for the ndidi header was comfortably outmuscled. Not sure he is going to make it holgate a a far better option

I agree that it wasn't the most important position we needed filling. However, assuming Jags & Williams are in there last few months with us, it makes sense to have a good look at someone who he may end up buying as a replacement

I pick Keane because he is at the right age with good PL experience. And he costed us a huge fee. He needs a run of game. He and Holgate made mistakes in turn this season. For me Keane has more physically presence than Holgate and he showed it at Burnley he can be a good PL CB.
