Ringo Starr I can understand . Seeing as he was a member of the most successful band in history . And he did write Octopus's Garden , with a little help from his friends . But Nick Clegg ?

Who's next . Dame Fizz off Corrie . Sir Rylan of BB
Lord Allardyce of Juicy Fruit?

...his version of Photograph is so good it’s on my I-pod.
He'd be a good singer only for his voice- the very first now sadly departed stated Ringo was very lucky to replace Pete Best, and his former band Rory Storm and the hurricanes - When Rory a Huyton boy very talented frontman committed suicide he and the other Beatles attended his funeral as good comrades in Germany club days all attended bar Ringo who played drummer in his band - his reason according to Williams - why should I go I wasn't at his birth!

In my opinion giving Ringo Starr a knighthood says everything you need to know about the honours system.
I noted the awarding committee are saying they are now going to consecrate on giving honours to people involved in Grenfield, Manchester etc. What they are saying is we won't give you a pay rise for risking your life to save others but here is a shinny bauble for you.

..i’m not a fan of the man but I think a few of his songs are actually very good. I saw him when part of the City of Culture concerts and he was good. He looks amazing given his childhood illnesses. He was part of arguably the country’s greatest ever musical offering. I have no problem with the award, especially given others who receive it.

Still should have never made the big time average drummer at best read the man who gave the Beatles away by The lately sadly departed Alan Williams a great read;)

McCartney is the only one on record to pledge any kind of allegiance, and he's a Toffee.
Reading a Xmas present 100' years of Everton's games of significance 1915 we had an attacking player named George Harrison our first player to be sent off in a cup tie in 1915!
Any connection I doubt itlol
Ringo out of the four was the most talentless!

It was Lennon as Macca played the drums in Back in the USSR Ringo was locked away in his paranoia as he was worried they wanted him out - Macca offered him to sing on that song - to keep the group together- Lennon mocked when asked was Ringo the best drummer in the world he laughed and stated he's not even the best drummer in the Beatles lol
If however you read around the subject, Ringo's drumming skills are often claimed to be much better than most say - simply, unfairly criticised.

Anyway, it wasn't even Lennon who made the remark but rather Jaspor Carrott...

Still never a knighthood- lucky to get selected for the Beatles !
The books I have read state otherwise on your corrections by the way - still a bog standard drummer imo!
His brother in law Joe Walsh that's a musician for you!
