Sir Landon Of Donovan

It sounded like he wanted to come here last winter but fatigue and finances scuppered it. He's had a rest and we're hopefully now not quite so broke following our outgoings, so why wouldn't it happen? I'm sure that both parties want it. Drenthe and Donovan flying down the wings would be awesome.

He was knackered. He'd played non-stop football. We couldn't have afforded him if he was available anyway and there's a good chance that we asked him to say that he needed a rest to keep it from the fans how skint we were.

Landon has taken a massive step back over the last few months. He's not nearly the player he was when he was last here, I fear (also I rhymed)

If we do get him, I say it is on loan. I think RFUS hit the nail on the head as his cost would not match his value with his age getting up there.

Could be.... but what if Nike were working to free him from MLS. It's all about the final cost isn't it?

No offense mate but i doubt nike are working any deals on this one. Stop living a pipe dream. Nike work with many lower league and amateur teams providing kits etc....

I doubt they are about to throw their weight which they reserve to the top clubs to a team that are skint and for the immediate future look like they are going to struggle.

When it comes to soccer nike do not have the same power as they do in other sports. Most of the major teams in Europe do not even use their brand. They are definitely no heavyweight.

If we were to get nike kits it would be an average deal not of the likes the top clubs get from them. As for exposure not much would change we might get a few more billboards and maybe some more air time on an ad or two but thats it.

He's too old now I think. Or rather his cost would make his age a dealbreaker.

Because he's getting on, he's coming into our price range. I'd only be thinking of a loan though. Even if his age wasn't a factor, weren't not able to spend that sort of money on a player. Having him over for a couple of months would give the place a lift though.

There is NO way in the world we would or should sign Donovan up on a perm deal. It would go against everything moyes is trying to do at the moment ie young players with promising future or sell on value

A loan deal could be a possibility but it depends if we sign in Jan. Say we get holtby or Ljajic as has been mooted, then I don't see Donovan coming back really

You guys aren't looking bigger picture. Signing Donovan would be massive towards raising our profile and at the moment anything to raise our profile to a would be suitor would be excellent.

Oh and he can play a bit too ;-)
