Wow. I'm 20k's away from the ground & all I got was highlights!

Good to know they just showed his errors rather than all the best bits!

Yup! I can't watch the video because I'm in the US, but he had two spectacular through balls - one via header to Jimenez that Jimenez fluffed, then a through ball up the middle between two defenders to Cardozo that Cardozo fluffed over the bar.

He nutmegged a Victory player in the box and missed wide by inches.

Tippy tap football with Keane on the edge of the box multiple times.

Led several counters up the middle of the pitch (and it was usually up the middle).

Trapped some great long balls from Becks.

That doesn't discount the goal he should have put away, and the PK he didn't even do his long routine for (which I'm sure he won't repeat).

Wasn't world class, but for a friendly, it was good. But most of all, he no longer looks hobbled and old. I know some folks on here had concerns about that - and rightfully so. Earlier this year he looked like a shadow of himself. But these last 4 games after a month long break he's looked healthy. I'm not worried about that anymore for a loan.

from that article.....

“I always think in January, particularly since I came to Everton, you can make a difference then. I remember we signed Brazilian Jo a couple of years back and it gave everyone a lift. He scored a few goals, and it’s good to see a new face around.
“The manager has done it every January, he has brought someone in. It might not be for money, it might be a free transfer, but he’s brought someone in to pick us up.”

Get Jo On ffs !! Jol Would.

I remember when Donovan was invited by Klinsmann and Bayern Munich (btw I like Klinsmann but not Bayern hehe) and had a rather brief spell there, testing him. But finally the Bayern bosses didn't want to offer him a contract. Good for Everton :)

Neville reckons he won't come, but his view isn't based on any actual insight, just that he thinks he would have come last year if he fancied it. I think Donovan was right to say that he needed a rest and we probably couldn't have afforded him anyway. I'm optimistic that we'll see him again in the new year.

There was a lot more going on at Bayern than this. Jurgen brought him in, and Jurgen was in the process of being fired.

I agree with billycopper, and the fact that LCAB told us discussions were happening. Until I hear differently from LCAB or THT, I have a shred of hope.
