LA Galaxy manager Bruce Arena is known for his off-the-field gamesmanship. Everything he says has to be taken with a grain of salt. This happened after he was linked with some Liga MX clubs though:

I read that as "Not going on loan, but I'll give myself a tiny amount of wiggle room in case Goodison gives me a ring."
Which I see as unlikely at this point, since signs seem to point to a Deulofeu return some time in January. Need not as great as first thought.
