Donavan is a clever footballer and he won us a few games by knowing where to be and when. Moyes used to move him around the pitch, often playing 3 different positions in one game. This made Everton very hard predict for opposing managers. We've some terrific players at Everton with some great attributes but I think we lack a cleaver type who can assess a game and adapt.

Donovan is 5 years younger than Distin, is still very fast, and could start ahead of 2 or maybe 3 of our current midfielders right now.
