Sir Landon Of Donovan

All this - when I joined in January 2009, there were only a couple - Upper Sturry, Dylan, Tx Bill, Tx Tib, Bruce Wayne (apologies if I forgot a name or two), but now there are more Yanks than I can even close to recognizing.

Think it's a great thing but I hope all you stay after Donovan has gone back to the States...

Don't think the Shites forums have these problems - already overrun with Norwegians. Maybe they're getting some Italians or Greeks in the mix some of the Irish that came aboard when Coleman came from Sligo.

so thats why he loves maggie thatcher so much, he's a seppo !!

hey chicago i hope i`m wrong about neville coz he got a contract above and beyond the 30 age limit max EFC policy and when hes fit he plays (ahem) but we were 16th in nov/dec - was he missing all season til then , from what i recall coleman inspired us against spurs and we gained momentum - i`m simplifying things a bit but i don`t buy the neville just has to shout to justify his playing thing. baines, fellaini etc play out their skins its down to neville- no effing way

One of the main reasons is their fans. I have grown to really dislike their fans...or any fans of the popular top 5's. Living in the States, very rarely will you find anybody supporting a team not in the top 5.

Well-said. Rooting for the top 5 in the EPL is just like rooting for the Patriots or Steelers. A bunch of bandwagoning arses! (the word I'd like to use here would be highly offensive to most, so i'll try a very weakly-used, English-sounding word  ).

I am an Everton convert now, they're my EPL team. (Didn't really have one prior, just watched casually). Having watched more & more games, I'm starting to develop that fan chemistry with the players, and the team's willingness to work with Americans definitely helps the cause.

I wish I could get involved in more discussions outside of the Landon thread, but I don't know anything about any other player, so outside of this thread I have very little to contribute. All the guys discussed as possible transfers are mostly people i've never heard of either. I've been a USMNT fan for over 10 years, an MLS fan for 5-6 years, followed the EPL loosely for two years, and haven't really followed any world soccer at all..... so 99% of the names on this site are all foreign to me. I hope the Brits don't get upset about the Americans constantly using this thread.... for some of us, this is all we know. :)

So yeah, lurking is the order of the day for me on most occassions. :)

Looking forward to the match tomorrow. (y)

I thought I read somewhere that the Sounders have completely allocated their season ticket allotment this year, something like 36,000 !!! Is that true?

If so, you guys are setting the bar reeaaaaaaaaaallllly high.

Give it time. When I first started posting, and following Everton, I couldn't even name all of the regular first-teamers.

After awhile you start to pick things up.

I think that is true. Surprising to me as well, but I guess this city was just overdue to get a franchise..... that and the Sounders were the only franchise that was winning here. Seattle is the biggest bunch of bandwagoners ever, so as long as the Sounders win, they will sell tickets.

I'm kind of hoping it bleeds over into other franchises too. I'd like to see the entire MLS be successful. Garber needs to raise that salary cap first, though, and possibly add a second DP slot - my opinion.

You guys losing Holden & Clark must hurt an absurd amount; have you been working on finding replacements?

the clubs official site will give you the full player stats etc. then you'll soon work out that heitinga is a beast, fellaini is the mighty mo, pienaar and arteta pull the strings, cahill can jump like a roo, the yak lights stadiums up with his smile and neville puts it out in the full when shooting, prompting you to scream shoot whenever he gets the ball in the oppositions half.

my mate has just moved back over here from seattle, he was there about 3 years, he's a blue but more into the boating scene and is bosun at our local sailing club.
