Sir Landon Of Donovan

With all the talk of him going to Man City, he plays ball with a kid wearing their shirt(the kid not him) at the end of his interview with Regis and Kelly. Coincidence?

Out of curiousity, if you Everton fans had to rank your players in terms of quality where would Landon Donovan fall?

I suggested 7th or 8th to some US mens national team fans (thinking guys like Fellaini, Pienaar, Cahilll, Heitinga, Baines and maybe Arteta, Saha, and other would rate better) but they are telling me I am crazy as they believe he is much better thant he 7th or 8th best player on the team.

Well, I wouldn't swop him for any of these players;

Arteta
Fellaini
Jagielka
Rodwell
Pienaar
Heitinga
Cahill
Saha
Yakubu
Bilyaletdinov
Howard

Our best player is Arteta, followed by Pienaar.

Then, in terms of importance, it would be Jagielka, Baines and Hietinga. Our defense isn't deep enough that I'd swap any of them for another attacking player.

Wouldn't swap him for Fellaini or Rodwell either just because they're young and have the potential to really kick on.

Donovan, to me is second tier. He's above the likes of Osman, Hibbert and Neville. And he performed more consistently (albeit over a very short time) than the likes of Cahill, Saha, Yakubu, Bily, Howard ect. but he's around that level. Good first team player but not a standout.

You are crazy if your rate Arteta as "maybe better".

absolutely better than the ones in bold... but what does it matter, he'll be at city anyhow by the looks of it

For me Arteta, Pienaar, Bily and Osman are technically better with the ball, where as Jags, Baines, Heitinga and Fellaini play more important roles than any Donovan would take on.

Arteta I would say is the only one better on the ball, than Donovan.. my opinion only..
