the only worry is STH are getting 1st choice of there seats, what if you get a couple of old guys are sitting there and they wanna sit down rest there wary legs????
They can get on someones shoulders mate.Sure a few of the lids won't mind picking them up.

I can't abide fans who think banging a massive drum for 90 minutes constitutes generating 'a good atmosphere'.

Seriously, have any players ever gone on record anywhere and said, "The lads' heads were dropping and we weren't playing well... but the minute that fat lad at the back of the stand started banging his drum and playing Great Escape for 40 minutes non-stop, that was when we felt inspired!"

It's not even 'small time behaviour', it's just plain annoying and moronic. You want to bang a drum? Go and join the Salvation Army band or something. Leave it at home for the footy!

This is why we need to do what every team does and email Everton and tell them to let the fans know that! Celtic/Rangers both started by having a message on their club website stating that ___ area is going to be mental.

Will never happen. The club won't force people to move or sit with people standing and singing. Standing isn't even legal.

I'll answer this as two seperate questions. I'm not a fan of drums at the match. What we want to do here is just a repeat of went on for years previously, ie, if you want to sing at the match and start off songs get in GT4 at the back, exactly the same place as this. I wrongly assumed that people would get that. We never had drums then, there's no need for drums now.

The generation of fans that have come through now don't seem to know that this area of GT4 was the place to go to start off songs. You hear fans complaining of the atmosphere, the answer was always go the back of the St End and the start off the songs. This just makes it public by using the internet. It's shocking, even embarrassing, the number of new fans we have that do not know this.

The other question about singing inspiring the players, ok I've altered the question slightly and the paragraphs above explain why, but Jimmy Gabriel and Dave Hickson are two people who have talked about the singing inspiring them.

It may turn out the current generation of Evertonians don't want to give this old style of Everton support. That's fine, but as someone who grew up with GT4 being the area people went to stand and sing I feel it is worth giving a fight for.

More power to you mate. I find it strange that the people who say they are indifferent to the singing always seem to have a go when its brought up.
Sitting in the gwladys at the Everton - West brom game and it was quiet, i even had to watch match of the day to make sure i didn't just imagine it.

If anyone brings a drum to goodison I'll get the bleach. Awful atmoshpere with those things. When England play its like a carnival. *bad for the game. Just sing ffs
